NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Residents and officials in North Providence say they’re increasingly concerned about a rodent infestation.
While Mayor Charles Lombardi has acknowledged North Providence has an “isolated” rat problem in “a couple areas,” he says the city has identified the food source and has “taken care of it in most instances,” WJAR-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2dRNmPj ).
Resident Tammy Jacques says she caught a rat about a month ago at her home. She says it was approximately one-foot long, with teeth an inch-and-a-half long.
Pamela Izzi, another North Providence resident, says she wishes she could dump a bag full of rats on Lombardi’s desk to show the city does have a real problem.
Lombardi says residents should continue to contact city officials if they have any further issues.
