Outlook bright for fall colors in South Carolina

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - The outlook is still bright for fall colors in South Carolina, despite the recent stretch of warm weather.

The Herald-Journal of Spartanburg reported (https://bit.ly/2elPxLS ) that experts at Clemson University say despite the warm weather and drought, fall colors should still be strong.

Clemson forest ecologist Donald Hagan said a moderate drought can be a good thing for fall colors. Hagan said a little stress from drought conditions can result in earlier fall colors.

It also produces a range of colors to appear in the same places at the same time.
