OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma City police have released the name of an 8-year-old girl who was struck and killed by a car on a city street.

Sgt. Gary Knight told reporters that Zara Noah was dead at the scene of the accident in northwest Oklahoma City Wednesday afternoon. Knight says a 15-year-old boy who was also struck was treated for leg and head injuries and a 7-year-old girl was not struck by the car.

Knight says the three were heading to a park when they apparently ran in front of a westbound car.

The driver of the car told police he didn’t see the children because of stopped cars in the eastbound lanes of the roadway.
