CLINTON, Conn. (AP) - A New York City woman has been arrested in Connecticut on charges of using fraudulent credit cards to make purchases.
Police in Clinton say they arrested 27-year-old Kumarie Patel as she left the Clinton Crossing outlet shopping center Friday.
Police say Patel was in possession of 45 cloned credit cards from various banking accounts and a fake New Jersey license with a false name.
Police say merchants were suspicious because Patel would pull a new card from a stack of cards whenever one was declined.
Police say Patel had more than $2,800 in merchandise and gift cards from various stores.
Patel was released on $20,000 bond. She’s due in court Oct. 10.
A woman who answered a phone number listed for Patel on Sunday said the charges weren’t true.
