Mississippi State Fair sets record with 733,151 attendees

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Officials say the 2016 Mississippi State Fair has set a new attendance record.

Multiple news outlets report that fair organizers say 733,151 people came out to this year’s fair, which is about a 13 percent increase from 2015 and four percent more than the attendance record set in 2014.

This year marked the 157th fair. The event kicked off Oct. 5 and ended Sunday at the fairgrounds in Jackson.
