DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - Investigators say a driver who fatally struck an 11-year-old girl crossing a street in southwestern Ohio doesn’t have a valid driver’s license.

A police report on the crash says Makyla White, of Dayton, was struck after improperly crossing a street there. She was reportedly in a curb lane when she was hit Wednesday evening, and she died two days later.

The report indicates the 29-year-old driver didn’t report distractions and wasn’t tested for drugs or alcohol. He hasn’t been charged.

WDTN-TV reports that public records show the man has had at least 17 traffic citations over the past few years, and many of those involved driving under suspension or without a valid license.
