WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut State Police have charged a woman with driving under the influence in a crash on Interstate 91 that left a 46-year-old man dead.

Katell Gunning of Newington faces charges including operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs in the Saturday crash that killed Kevin Dutra, of Colchester, in Windsor Locks.

Police say Gunning rear-ended the vehicle driven by Dutra on I-91 northbound, causing him to lose control of his car, swerve across the roadway and hit a metal guardrail.

Dutra’s vehicle turned over and caused fatal injuries.

Trooper Kelly Grant says more charges are pending against the 34-year-old Gunning. She’s being held on $150,000 bond and will be arraigned on Monday. It wasn’t immediately known if she has an attorney.

The crash remains under investigation.
