BROOKVILLE, Pa. (AP) - Officials say an explosion at a substation left more than 1,200 people in a western Pennsylvania town without power and could be linked to a fire that began inside a county courthouse.
WJAC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2dYez5Q ) officials say the explosion happened early Sunday in Brookville, about 70 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
Power was returned around noon, shortly after fire officials responded to a report that a fire broke out in a room near a generator at the Jefferson County Courthouse.
Officials say an electrical problem caused the blaze. An investigation into why the electrical problem happened is underway, as well as if the courthouse generator is the cause.
Police say the courthouse was empty.
All power is back in the county.
