FORT DRUM, N.Y. (AP) - An annual training exercise at Fort Drum is expected to bring some extra military traffic to highways in northern New York.
The full-scale “Mountain Peak” training exercise by the 10th Mountain Division Light Infantry is scheduled to run Oct. 16-26 and Nov. 28-Dec. 9. Military traffic along Route 26 between Route 3 and Route 11 is expected to cause delays at stop signs and traffic lights, and drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.
The Mountain Peak exercise is designed to prepare units for rapid deployment and enhance overall soldier readiness.
