PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities say a woman is facing arson charges on allegations that she set a west Philadelphia row house on fire to get revenge on the father of her child.
Police allege that the 26-year-old woman entered the home at about 10 a.m. Saturday, doused the living room with kerosene, set it afire and fled. The man wasn’t home at the time.
Lt. John Walker of Southwest Detectives said the woman was apparently angry about $1,000 she said she was owed.
Fire crews arrived to find flames shooting from the three-story building. Two adjoining homes were also heavily damaged.
Authorities said the suspect was being treated for burns on her ankle at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Authorities said she would also face charges of risking a catastrophe and reckless endangerment.
