BEL-RIDGE, Mo. (AP) - The longtime police chief of a small St. Louis County town has been suspended without pay and faces a termination vote before aldermen on Saturday.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/2dbOdhE ) reports that Gordon Brock has been with Bel-Ridge police 26 years, the last 16 as chief. Mayor Rachel White suspended him on Sept. 30, citing 37 charges. They include taking bribes, logging into a database to remove an arrest record for the grandson of another police chief, and taking money from a found wallet.
Brock says the allegations are false.
Bel-Ridge has about 2,700 residents in north St. Louis County, near Lambert Airport.
