WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - A Waterloo man injured last month in a work-related accident has died.
The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (https://bit.ly/2e13zoA ) that 43-year-old Marcus Essex was hit in the head by a chain while loading a trash bin on Sept. 15. Officials say he died Tuesday at a Cedar Rapids after a month in the hospital.
Police say the accident happened around 7:40 a.m. while Essex was working for Black Hawk Disposal on West Fourth Street. A co-worker reported hearing a loud sound and found Essex unconscious on the ground.
A funeral service is planned for Saturday morning in Waterloo.
