MARYSVILLE, Wash. (AP) - The Lakewood School District in Marysville cancelled school after a student received a threat warning to stay home because “someone was going to shoot up the middle school.”
The school district posted the notice on its website Wednesday. It says law enforcement was on site and looking into the threat against Lakewood Middle School.
The district sent a notice to bus drivers telling them to return students home. It told parents to keep their children home.
KOMO-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2dkK7lO ) that the threat was posted on Snapchat social media.
All five of the district’s schools - Lakewood high school, middle school, elementary school, English Crossing Elementary and Cougar Creek Elementary - were closed Wednesday.
