MACON, Ga. (AP) - A man has been fatally shot by another driver in what investigators believe was a road rage-fueled confrontation in Macon.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that 58-year-old Randy E. Epps, of Twiggs County, was shot multiple times by 22-year-old William Hollingsworth, of Lizella, on Tuesday afternoon and pronounced dead at a hospital.
Bibb County Lt. Randy Gonzalez says Epps had been tailgating Hollingsworth when Epps pulled along the younger driver and threatened him with a gun. Authorities say Hollingsworth grabbed his gun and fired several shots at Epps.
The district attorney’s office is reviewing the cases. No charges were immediately filed against Hollingsworth.
