PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) - Officials say a house fire in Pawtucket has left at least six people displaced.

WPRI-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2dHNnXK ) firefighters responded to the scene Monday afternoon for a report of smoke in the house.

Capt. Dave Cairrao says crews discovered the dryer ablaze in the basement. He says the fire couldn’t be seen from the outside.



Cairrao says the inferno left the home uninhabitable.

A firefighter was taken to a hospital for possible smoke inhalation.
