HELENA, Mont. (AP) - The driver of a semi-truck that was hauling liquid oxygen had to be cut from the vehicle after a rollover crash on Interstate 15 north of Helena.
The Independent Record reports (https://bit.ly/2eRNIpv ) that Montana Highway Patrol trooper Brian Inman says the driver fell asleep at the wheel before the truck struck a guardrail on Monday. The truck then rolled, coming to rest on its roof.
Inman says the liquid oxygen, which could potentially be dangerous and volatile, did not leak from the container.
The driver was cited for careless driving and not wearing a seatbelt and was taken to St. Peter’s Hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
