NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities say a suspected robber was grazed by a bullet fired by police in the Bronx.
Police say it happened during a botched gunpoint robbery involving three men on East 164th Street in the Morrisania section at about 1 p.m. Tuesday.
When two plainclothes officers on patrol encountered the suspects, police say one of the men fired shots at the officers, who returned fire. After a brief foot pursuit two of the suspects were taken into custody.
One of the suspects was hospitalized with a graze wound to his knee and hip. The other suspect was not injured.
A firearm was recovered. No officers were injured.
