NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - A beloved street performer in New Jersey’s largest city has been fatally shot.
Newark police found 44-year-old Eric Bowens with a gunshot wound on Bergen Street late Monday night. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Bowens was known to many in Newark as “Uggie.” He was known for his dancing at public events around the city.
The Essex County prosecutor’s office major crimes task force was investigating, but police had not made any arrests.
