EDMOND, Okla. (AP) - A 15-year-old student has been arrested in Edmond after authorities say they found a handgun, ammunition and marijuana inside his backpack.

Edmond police spokeswoman Jennifer Wagnon says police were contacted Tuesday morning by the principal of Edmond Santa Fe High School, who had been told the student might be armed with a gun.

According to Wagnon, the student was interviewed by police and the weapon was found during a search. He was arrested on complaints of drug and firearm possession.

Principal Jason Hayes says officials believe this to be an isolated incident, and that the student did not make a specific threat toward other students or staff.
