BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) - Police say a student charged with selling marijuana at his Pennsylvania community college campus told them he was using the money to pay his tuition.
The (Easton) Express-Times (https://bit.ly/2fcKiAR ) reports 20-year-old Zachary Santiago, of Philadelphia, was arrested after Bethlehem Township police searched his room at Northampton Community College on Friday and found more than one-and-a-half ounces of marijuana. Police say they also found $700 in cash, plastic bags and a scale.
Police say Santiago acknowledged selling the drugs to pay his school bill. He’s since been banned from campus.
Online court records don’t list an attorney for Santiago, who faces a preliminary hearing Nov. 18 on charges he sold and possessed marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia.
