BEAR, Del. (AP) - Police say a 38-year-old woman was struck by gunfire as she slept in her Bear home.

New Castle County Police Officer First Class JP Piser says the shooting occurred early Sunday in the Sparrow Run community.

Responding officers provided first-aid on the scene and the unidentified victim was taken to the hospital. Police said she is expected to fully recover.



Investigators say bullets had also struck multiple homes and vehicles nearby. No other injuries were reported.

Authorities are offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information regarding the shooting.
