BIG POOL, Md. (AP) - Maryland State Police say a fatal crash in Washington County initially thought to be a single-car crash may have been a two-vehicle hit and run.
The agency said in a news release Monday that troopers on Friday afternoon found a car overturned and off of the roadway on eastbound Interstate 70 in Big Pool.
Police say the lone occupant of the car, 59-year-old Russell Junior Francis of Hancock, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say witnesses report that the car may have hit a tractor trailer.
Troopers ask that anyone with information about the crash contact investigators.
