DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - Authorities are blaming a water main break for creating a massive sinkhole in Dubuque.
The roadway sank in around 6 a.m. Sunday in the Historic Old Main area. No injuries have been reported.
City water plant manager Denis Ihrig says employees had noticed irregularities in production demand Saturday.
Repairs on the water main and an underground storm sewer that was damaged are expected to be completed by Thursday evening.
