SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A two-alarm fire at a Salt Lake City apartment complex has injured three people and displaced 40 others.

Officials say the blaze broke out early Monday and affected 30 housing units. Two people were taken to the hospital by ambulance and a third was taken to the hospital by a relative for minor burns and smoke inhalation.

Officials say the fire started in a carport storage room. The fire has been determined to be accidental but the cause is still under investigation.



Damages are expected to exceed $300,000. In all, 14 units were deemed uninhabitable, 10 units sustained minor damage and 17 vehicles were destroyed or heavily damaged in the blaze.
