MALAD CITY, Idaho (AP) - A man wanted on a felony warrant for allegedly escaping from a Colorado prison program was arrested in Southern Idaho on charges that he assaulted his spouse and the deputies who tried to arrest him.

The Idaho State Journal reports (https://bit.ly/2f7IY27 ) that police say Stephen Crouse faces a slew of charges and extradition to Colorado after he tried to strangle his wife and head-butted deputies on Friday.

Deputies responded to a domestic dispute and Crouse fled on foot. When he was later caught, he resisted arrest and assaulted deputies by spitting, hitting and head-butting them. Deputies used a Taser to take him into custody.

Crouse faces four counts of battery on an officer, strangulation charges and aggravated assault.

He also faces domestic violence and resisting arrest charges.
