GENEVA, Ill. (AP) - Officials in Kane County say they are continuing to investigate a weekend traffic collision that left two teenagers dead.
In a news release the county sheriff’s department says the collision happened Saturday at 5 p.m. Sixteen-year-old Arthur Stenger of Montgomery had just pulled a pickup truck into the intersection of Merideth Road and Beith Road in Virgil Township after stopping at a stop sign when a semi- trailer slammed into the vehicle.
Stenger and his passenger - 16-year-old Elijah Vajgert of Maple Park - were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Kane County Sheriff’s Department says the driver of the semi-trailer - 60-year-old Jack Krueger of Burlington - received medical treatment at the scene and was released.
