GREENFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Cider lovers can head to Franklin County this weekend for all sorts of cider-related activities.
The 22nd annual Cider Days festival runs through Sunday with orchard talks and tours, cider workshops and cider-tasting salons all across the county.
Many of the events are free, but there are also many ticketed events including tastings and dinners with cider-based menus.
The festivities celebrate the region’s apple-growing businesses and the cider industry, including hard cider and the traditional non-alcoholic sweet cider.
Lisa Davol, the marketing manager for the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, told The Recorder that the festival draws people from across New England, Canada and even overseas. She said the U.S. Association of Cider Makers grew out of the festival.
