KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) - The Asian Football Confederation says it banned Shandong Luneng player Jin Jingdao for eight months after he tested positive for clenbuterol ahead of an Asian Champions League match.

Jingdao gave a sample in training before Shandong’s 3-1 loss at FC Seoul in the quarterfinals in August.

Details of the case will be published at a later date, the AFC says in a statement.

It was unclear if the 24-year-old Jin’s case involved eating contaminated meat. Doping cases involving clenbuterol in China are often linked to the anabolic agent being used in livestock farming.
