MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Ozark native Charles Ward has been named acting director of the Department of Public Safety with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
The public safety bureau comprises three divisions: Motor Carrier Safety, Marine Patrol and Highway Patrol, the last of which makes up the bulk of Ward’s career.
The Dothan Eagle reports (https://bit.ly/2fgKjEq ) Ward served 10 years in highway patrol in Coffee and Dale counties and for a number of years at the Dothan Post. He’s also worked as a dispatcher with the Ozark Police Department.
In a news release, Ward says he’s eager to help the agency serve Alabama citizens.
