MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - A $4.2 billion U.S. Air Force contract has been awarded to a subsidiary of the tribally owned S&K Technologies.

The Missoulian reports (https://bit.ly/2e5vxQU ) that that the contract, announced Wednesday and awarded to S&K Aerospace, is the largest ever awarded to the company, which is owned by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes.

The company’s previous record contract was worth $325 million and was with the Royal Saudi Air Force in 2001.

Under the new contract, S&K Aerospace will assist more than 90 approved foreign nations to procure and maintain aging U.S. weapons systems and other military equipment.

S&K Aerospace had already been doing such work since 2012 under a five-year, $975 million contract.
