KASILOF, Alaska (AP) - A Kenai Peninsula teenager is dead after a crash near Kasilof (kah-SEE-lawf).
Alaska State Troopers say 17-year-old Mykah Slater of Sterling died in the crash Wednesday night near Mile 1 Kalifornsky Beach Road.
Slater was a passenger in a pickup driven by 34-year-old Johnna Angleton of Kasilof.
Troopers say Angleton was driving south at about 9 p.m. when she lost control, left the road and crashed in a ditch.
Angleton and another passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Slater was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
