TULARE, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a Central California woman shot by her boyfriend as she held their baby has died.
The Fresno Bee reports Thursday (https://bit.ly/2f6QS9M) 39-year-old Michelle Mosqueda died Wednesday, three weeks after 37-year-old Larry Zamora shot her and their 14-month-old daughter.
The child died three days after the Oct. 13 at a home in Tulare. Zamora killed himself the same day in a 12-hour standoff with deputies.
The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office says he was a known gang member with a violent history.
During the standoff Zamora fired from the home and hit a police officer who was saved by his helmet.
After the shooting, Zamora went to a home several miles away, where he barricaded himself inside.
The standoff ended after deputies sent a robot inside the house, and it showed them an image of Zamora lying dead in a pool of blood next to a high-powered rifle.
