PINE ISLAND, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a woman was briefly trapped in a house that exploded in New York’s Hudson Valley.

It happened at a home on Walling Road in Pine Island just before 4 p.m. Tuesday.

State police told WABC-TV the woman was alone in the house when it exploded. They say she was initially trapped but was able to scramble to safety with her dog.

The house then burst into flames and was totally destroyed.
