OPINION:
Donald Trump has been President-elect Trump for 15 days now. That’s more than two weeks. Prior to his victory, he assembled his transition team, with some mid-stride adjustments. For more than two months now, these people have been working diligently to review the background and credentials of potential cabinet and lower-level presidential appointments. The work they do is intense and time-consuming, and a critical component to a successful and robust transition.
Now most if not all of Mr. Trump’s critics, including many in the media, have lambasted the operation as slow-moving and disorganized. It seems they suddenly want quick action and rapid decisions. Really? Because just a few weeks ago Hillary Clinton, our current president and many others were accusing Mr. Trump of being too reactionary, too quick to jump. They said Mr. Trump was unfit to serve and had the wrong temperament.
Now that Mr. Trump has won, he is prudently reviewing all his options to nominate individuals to serve at the highest levels in his administration. He is patient, not indecisive.
You can’t have it both ways folks. You can’t call Mr. Trump short-tempered and hasty, and in the next breath call him slow to act.
