ATLANTA (AP) - State investigators are looking into an incident in which they say Atlanta-area officers fired at a man who hit multiple vehicles as he drove away.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Nelly Miles said in a statement that Fulton County police responded around 11 a.m. Wednesday to a report of a suspicious vehicle in a commercial parking lot.

Fulton police told the GBI that when officers asked a man inside the vehicle to get out, he attempted to flee, hitting several vehicles, including a police vehicle. Multiple officers then fired their guns.

Miles says the man continued to try to get away but was caught.

At a hospital, it was discovered the man was cut by broken glass but was not shot. He was being treated. No officers were injured.
