Conservative radio host Laura Ingraham said Tuesday it’s “wonderful to be considered” for a possible role in President-elect Donald Trump’s administration, after she has been mentioned as a possible press secretary.
“Things are in flux. We’ll see,” Ms. Ingraham said on “Fox & Friends.” “It’s wonderful to be considered. I’ve known Donald for a long time.”
She called top Trump strategist Stephen K. Bannon an “old friend” and also said she has longstanding relationships with presidential transition officials Kellyanne Conway and David Bossie.
“All of them I have enormous respect for, and of course President-elect Trump,” she said.
“I’m praying a lot, and we’ll see what happens,” Ms. Ingraham said. “I’m not prepared to announce anything.”
Ms. Ingraham has attracted a wide following among conservatives from her radio show, and she is also editor-in-chief of the website LifeZette.
She also clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and was a speechwriter in the Reagan administration.
In 2014, she helped elevate the profile of Rep. Dave Brat in his underdog campaign against former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and actually campaigned for Mr. Brat in Virginia, saying Mr. Cantor had betrayed conservatives on the issue of immigration.
