HAMPDEN, Maine (AP) - Authorities say an elderly woman was killed in a wrong-way crash in Hampden, adding to several motor vehicle fatalities in Maine over the weekend.

Police say the crash happened Sunday night on U.S. Route 202. They say the woman was driving the wrong way and hit another car head-on.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. Four other people were injured. Police say they’re all expected to survive. No one was immediately identified.



Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

State police say at least five other people have died in four separate car crashes over the weekend.
