BLAIRSTOWN, N.J. (AP) - Police say the pilot of a single-engine plane that crashed into trees after fueling at the Blairstown Airport has died.

Samuel Singer of Warren Township was extricated from the wreckage on Thursday and died at a hospital.

Blairstown police say a witness reported Singer had just refueled the plane when the North American Navion aircraft went full throttle across two runways and then hit trees.

The Federal Aviation administration is investigating.
