RIVERDALE, Ga. (AP) - A 16-year-old boy accused of killing a Clayton County high school classmate last week has surrendered to authorities.

The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office says the suspect’s father brought his son to surrender Wednesday, hours after deputies placed him atop the county’s most wanted list.

The teenager has been charged with murder and aggravated assault in the Nov. 2 death of 17-year-old Cedric Clark. Clark, a junior at Charles Drew High School, was found dead behind a Riverdale home.

WXIA-TV (https://on.11alive.com/2eMO1EE ) reports investigators believe the suspect and a 16-year-old were planning to fight after school. Later that night, Clark and the 16-year-old were walking in a subdivision when the suspect ran into the street and shot Clark.

The Associated Press generally does not identify juveniles charged with crimes.
