CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Police in Charlotte are investigating the shooting death of a man after getting a call about an assault.

Police spokeswoman Jessica Lawrence Wallin said in a news release that officers were called to a report of an assault around 5 p.m. Wednesday. They found a man who had been shot. Twenty-seven-year-old Christopher Bernard Watson, Jr. was taken to Carolinas Medical Center where he died.

Wallin said the investigation is continuing. No arrests have been reported.
