KUNA, Idaho (AP) - Authorities say a 72-year-old Melba man is being treated for gunshot wounds after police allege that he exchanged gunfire with police officers.

According to the Ada County Sheriff’s office, deputies began pursuing a man who was driving erratically in Canyon County. Kuna police officers then took over the pursuit when the man - who has not yet been identified - crossed into Ada County.

Law enforcement officials say police shot the man after he stopped his car and a pointed a gun at three officers.



The officers were identified as Wes Bunnell, Vishal Sahni, and Nolan Zorn. This is the first officer-involved shooting for all three.

No further information was immediately released, including if the man fired his gun.
