President Obama, in Cuba, was “apprised” of the terrorist attacks in Belgium early Tuesday morning, a White House official said.

The Obama aide said U.S. officials are in close contact with their Belgian counterparts. The attacks, believed to have been carried out by the Islamic State, have killed at least 26 people and wounded more than 100 at an airport and a metro station.

Mr. Obama has a busy schedule Tuesday in Havana, where he’s slated to give a speech to the Cuban people, meet with dissidents and attend a baseball game between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Cuban national team. There was no indication early Tuesday that the president would alter his schedule in light of the attacks in Brussels.
