OPINION:
While much media focus has been directed at the demise of a leading Republican candidate, the Democratic policies destroying our country have been given a pass. Let’s not forget that Democrats were the party of slavery, founders of the Ku Klux Klan, and the only party ever to nominate and confirm a KKK member (Hugo Black) to the Supreme Court. It was the Republican Party that abolished slavery and led the fight to pass the 14th Amendment and the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Although we can’t be certain what we will get if a Republican is elected president, we can be certain Democrats will continue to do as President Obama has done. It is widely accepted by Democrats that Mr. Obama has done a wonderful job on the economy, so I guess that 95 million people out of the work force, 50 million people living in poverty, 46 million people on food stamps, anemic GDP growth and a $19-trillion-plus national debt are the the new norms.
Fifteen years after Sept. 11, 2001, Democrats still have not labeled or named Muslim extremists as our enemy. The so-called “JV team” of the Islamic State has been ceded large swaths of territory in Iraq, Syria, Libya and the remainder of the Middle East, and creates havoc worldwide. Iran gets $150 billion by pretending to slow its nuclear program and China and Russia do as they please. All the while the U.S. military has been downsized and U.S. world influence has been diminished.
As far as immigration reform goes, if the Democrats get there way there will never be a proper border fence, and we will have health care, welfare benefits and a path to citizenship for the 11 million-plus people here illegally. Effectively this would make the United States a refuge for anyone wishing to enter, exasperate our national debt, and diminish national security.
If you want all of the above with less liberty, less religious freedom, more taxes, more regulations and more debt, then by all means vote for a Democrat in November.
