I am a libertarian with no party affiliation, and I am quite concerned about what Donald Trump’s candidacy is doing: dividing the GOP and damaging constitutional conservatism.

Mr. Trump doesn’t have a good moral compass (Christians, take note). In this campaign, he has proposed killing the families of terrorists, which would be war crimes. Concerning the border wall, forcing Mexico to pay for it would be the moral equivalent of extortion or theft. Mr. Trump also once tried to use eminent domain to tear down a woman’s house in order to make way for one of his projects.

Mr. Trump said he likes the Obamacare mandate that everyone be required to buy health insurance.

Mr. Trump’s businesses have gone bankrupt four times.

Mr. Trump has been rude and has otherwise engaged in much bragging about himself. His mantra, “We are going to make America great again,” is as lacking in definition as President Obama’s “Hope and Change.”

When pitted against Hillary Clinton in polls, Mr. Trump has repeatedly done worse than both of his remaining Republican rivals.

If Mr. Trump wins the Republican nomination, I’m betting that most of the news media will treat Hillary better than they will treat him. So unless Republicans nominate somebody other than Mr. Trump, it’s highly likely that the country will be stuck with four more years of of an Obama-like presidency.

It’s time to give up the anger and vote on principle.
