I am a registered independent voter and am hoping I will soon awaken from a bad dream that is rapidly turning into a nightmare. We have two candidates running for president of the United States of America. One is currently undergoing a criminal investigation by the FBI, and the other seems to be caught up in a Twitter obsession as he sits on his golden throne each morning tweeting anything that comes into his head.

The Clintons should be kept as far away from the power of the presidency as possible. With Hillary Clinton’s past and present baggage, one would think her opponent would have almost too much material to work with. So how and why is Donald Trump being drawn into little squabbles that put Mrs. Clinton on the offensive and make him look like a defensive ninny?

If this election were a bad movie it would probably go something like this: A person wants to be president, but he or she has too much baggage to be successful in a general election. Thus a plan is hatched with a very wealthy close friend who says he will run as a candidate with the opposing party and attempt to take out all of the other candidates during the primaries. That done, he will go into self-destruct mode five months prior to the general election, ensuring victory for his friend.

Could there be a good ending to this bad movie? The rich friend could get elected anyway, and if he doesn’t (or can’t) do the job as president, Congress would have no problem with impeachment.
