President Obama called Dallas Police Chief David Brown Friday from Poland in the wake of shootings that left five police officers dead and seven others wounded.

Mr. Obama “offered his condolences on behalf of the country to Chief Brown for the officers who were killed in last night’s shootings,” said White House press secretary Josh Earnest.

The president also ordered flags to be flown at half-staff until sunset Tuesday in honor of the victims of the attack.

Mr. Obama is attending a NATO summit in Warsaw. He also called Attorney General Loretta Lynch to receive an update on the investigation into the shootings in Dallas.
