FBI officials pleaded with the public Tuesday for additional help in piecing together a full timeline of the actions of the San Bernardino, California, shooters on the day they carried out a fatal terror attack.

Investigators said they are still trying to account for the movements of Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik during an 18-minute stretch on Dec. 2, the day the couple opened fire at a government holiday party and killed 14 people. Officials have accounted for locations the couple drove to or visited for the remainder of the day, but noted that they don’t understand all of the couple’s movements.

“There was a lot of zig-zagging around. There is no rhyme or reason to it that we can find yet,” said David Bowdich, assistant special agent in charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles field office.

Officials are hoping to determine where the couple was from 12:59 p..m to 1:17 p.m. and are looking for anyone who may have and surveillance footage from the area through which the couple had traveled or anyone who may have seen them during that time.

Mr. Bowdich confirmed again during a press conference Tuesday that investigators to date have not uncovered any information indicating that the attack was directed by a foreign entity or terrorist group and that the Muslim couple self-radicalized.
