The three candidates for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination are slated to participate in a town hall Monday evening in Des Moines, about a week before the Iowa caucuses.

CNN will air the town hall, to take place from 9-11 p.m. (ET), and make it available to its Iowa affiliates to air live, the network said.

The three candidates — former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Sen. Bernard Sanders of Vermont and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley ‚ will field questions from Iowa Democrats in the event hosted by the Iowa Democratic party and Drake University.

The news comes as polls show Mr. Sanders running neck and neck with Mrs. Clinton in the state and leading her in New Hampshire. The Democratic National Committee, which has been accused of limiting its debate schedule to try to tip the scales toward Mrs. Clinton, had officially sanctioned one previous debate in Iowa, held on a Saturday night in November.
