Attorney General Loretta Lynch will deliver the keynote address Monday at the National Action Network’s breakfast held in honor of the life of Martin Luther King.

The annual event, hosted by the Rev. Al Sharpton’s nonprofit group at the Mayflower Renaissance Hotel in Washington, D.C., pays tribute to King’s legacy and honors others’ commitment to equality.

Joining Ms. Lynch will be her predecessor, Eric H. Holder, whom the National Action Network describes as an honoree of the event.

Others to be honored at the event include the late Rev. Clementa Pinckney, the pastor who was among the nine people killed last year in the shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina.

Pinckney’s widow, Jennifer Pinckney, is expected to be in attendance at the breakfast to accept the award on his behalf.

Also speaking at the event is Acting Education Secretary John King Jr.

According to a statement from the Education Department, Mr. King will discuss the new education law, the Every Student Succeeds Act, as well as work that needs to continue “in order to ensure that students of color have equitable resources and access to high quality preschool, strong teachers and advanced coursework.”
