Four Maryland schools were on lockdown briefly as a precaution Monday morning while Prince George’s County Police searched for two suspects involved in a nearby shooting.
DuVal High School, Robert Goddard Middle School, Catherine T. Reed Elementary School and Magnolia Elementary School were on lockdown earlier in the morning, but the lockdown was lifted, confirmed Sherrie Johnson, public information officer for Prince George’s County Public Schools.
The shooting, which was not random, occurred at a bus stop in the 9900 block of Greenbelt Road, police tweeted. The shooting victim suffered critical injuries.
The investigation blocked traffic earlier on Greenbelt Road between Aerospace Road and Goodluck Road, but traffic has been restored, police said.
No more details were provided.
